The overall role:
As a Mid-Weight Designer you’ll be working as part of the creative team across all our accounts and projects to help us deliver and implement high quality design from large web builds to mobile apps including vision pieces, prototypes and pitches.
As a Mid-Weight Digital Designer as well as taking direction from your core team and across other disciplines (Brand, UX and development) you will now start owning your own projects. With this comes greater responsibility with attention-to-detail and timing being key, ensuring we are hitting deadlines on time and to budget. And now that you’re pixel perfect you will start to expand your design and interface skills. You will also be called upon to give accurate time estimates to the project management team when they are putting together cost proposal.
Owning your own projects also requires being able to present them to the team and to your clients so your ability to craft and communicate your ideas is crucial.
Ultimately we need someone that can get on with it and get to grips with our processes with a proactive and energetic approach to tackling briefs and opportunities as they arise.

Specifically as a Mid-weight Digital Designer you’re responsible for delivering the following:
PEOPLE: leadership and management
Follow direction and feedback from team and clients.
Support and work with other members of the creative and project team to help deliver projects.
Run and manage your own projects including managing junior designers where relevant.
Attend and contribute to the creative showcases.
Contribute to the overall culture at Rufus.
PRODUCT: creative direction and vision
Ensure concepts and ideas are clearly derived from the creative brief and client objectives
Ability to translate our clients brand into digital executions with an awareness of designing across a variety of digital technologies.
Your role will also expand to cover language, TOV and messaging and you will get more involved with working with strategy and the customer experience team to support the creation of roadmaps, user journey’s and personas
Continuously develop layout and typographic skills with awareness and understanding of IA / UX / CX and our development process and framework and best practice accessibility standards.
Present and communicate work and the thinking behind it being confident with writing skills and storytelling ability
A key part of the role will also be to work with senior members of the creative team to realize and role out the design concepts.
As well as delivering high quality PSDs to hand over to development teams you will also be responsible for the creation and delivery of digital guidelines.
Keep up-to-date and share industry developments - platforms, trends and innovation.
Good organisational and time management ability are essential as are ensuring general housekeeping and filing of work is up to date.
