Initially you will be spending time working between support and project work. We will aim to expose you to as many technologies as possible, cross training in various platforms, frameworks and tools. You'll learn a lot, fast and we'd look for you to rapidly become a key member of the team. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior developer to work alongside experienced leads in a supportive and challenging environment. You'll be writing HTML, CSS and JavaScript with an emphasis on responsive design and usability across multiple platforms and devices. Making use of component based development architecture and modular CSS to create clean, compliant and re-usable code.

We use a range of tools and libraries (e.g. Backbone, Angular, Grunt, jQuery, SASS etc) and our own in-house UI Framework along with best practice code management and deployment so you can expect to quickly gain real-word experience with current best practice frameworks, libraries and build tools.

Requirements

● Have a solid grounding in HTML, CSS and JavaScript

● Have knowledge of popular frameworks, libraries and build systems

● Have knowledge of responsive / adaptive design, progressive enhancement etc

● Have a passion for writing clean, high quality, standards compliant code

● Look forward to working closely and collaboratively with other disciplines such as UX / Design, and agile methodologies

● Have an eye for detail, particularly around visual design

● Have an understanding of cross browser issues, performance and optimisation techniques, and accessibility requirements

● Show enthusiasm for learning about and developing new and emergent technologies

● Display an ability to plan, prioritise and manage your workload

● Take the opportunity to develop your skills through in-house training and appropriate courses

● Take part in the team's development through active participation in the UI Working group and other similar sessions


Bonus marks:

● Experience with Backbone, Angular, Grunt, jQuery or SASS

● Experience with mobile apps, either natively or via PhoneGap / Titanium

● An understanding of project management techniques, especially Agile methodologies

● An understanding of backend technologies i.e. .NET, PHP, Wordpress etc

● Experience of CMS integration

● Experience integrating external and 3rd party APIs (incl. Facebook, Twitter etc)
